INFRARED SAUNA
Stress relief
Just a few minutes in the gentle rays of the infrared sauna provides you with an overall massaging effect, soothing tangled nerves and knotted muscles.
Detoxification
Conventional saunas require high air temperatures to pull impurities from the body but infrared saunas can penetrate directly up to 50mm inside the body. Impurities are pushed out using lower and more comfortable temperatures. As the body temperature rises by infrared heat perspiration occurs and blood circulation increases. The muscles and organs are stimulated and toxic waste (fat, heavy metals, lactic acid, urea cholesterol and other environmental chemicals) is removed from your body through perspiration. The cells and body in general is able to function better in a cleaner environment.
Pain relief
In Europe and Japan the far infrared therapy has been effective in providing pain relief with those suffering from bursitis, fibro myalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, back pain, headaches, sprains and many other muscular-skeletal ailments. In one Swedish study a 70 year old man with rheumatoid arthritis had reached his toxic limit of gold corticosteroid injections and his Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) was still 125. After using an infrared system for less than 5 months his ESR was down to 11.
Weight control and cellulite reduction
A moderately conditioned person can easily sweat off 500 grams of sweat in a sauna- the equivalent of running 6-8 kilometres or up to 900 calories. While the weight of the water lost can be regained by re hydration with water, the calories will not be. Cellulite is cleared more quickly and comfortably than with other saunas as the infra red rays penetrate more deeply to bring out the toxic material more readily and to facilitate drainage from the area.
Cardiovascular conditioning
A 2001 study reported in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology concluded that repeated infrared saunas treatment improves impaired blood vessel functions in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking and high cholesterol. It also reported significant weight loss, lowered blood pressure, lowered blood sugars.
Immune system stimulation
Increased activity of T cells, NK cells and B cells which are used by the body to fight, neutralise and destroy disease producing foreign invaders, such as viruses, toxins, bacterium and mutated cells.
